My E30

Fall 2000

A lot has happened since I purchased my 86 BMW 325es from Dave Walter BMW on July 7, 2000. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to own and enjoy a car that I grew up admiring. My Uncle owned an 87 325is that caught my attention from a very young age. I even had a remote control M3! Soon after I purchased my BMW I began to work on it. One of the first major projects I completed was installing a rebuilt driveshaft to fix the thump under my seat. I had no previous experience working on cars but with the help of various members of online forums and the advice of Brett Anderson, I was able to sucessfully complete this project. Speaking of Brett, I met this BMW master mechanic at a local BMW dinner that I attended a few weeks after purchasing my E30. M50 Swap 2001

In March of 2001 I began the M50 motor swap. Totally transformed the car, smooth, fast and more reliable.

Driving School 2002

In July of 2002 I attended my first driving school. I met a lot of great people and had a blast. Some drivers had even seen my website and recognized my car. I had a great time and learned a lot!

2003

In the Summer of 2003 I brought my car out of storage again and enjoyed using it as a daily driver. I had not done this since Fall 2001. I still am amazed that the car is so reliable even after all of the extensive modifications. The only thing I had to fix this year was a charging problem that was solved by cleaning the engine ground.

2004

Since I sold the Z3 Coupe, the E30 is now my daily driver! I spent some time this summer working on it and put about 2000mi over the course of 7 months.
